Angela Jackson & Leonora Risse 

Angela Jackson was Deputy Chief of Staff to the Australian Minister for Finance and Deregulation during the Global Financial Crisis. She is Lead Economist at Impact Economics and Policy and has completed a PhD from Monash University’s Centre for Health Economics on the Economics of Disability in Australia. Jackson is national Chair of the Women in Economics Network; part-time Commissioner at the Commonwealth Grants Commission and member of the Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee. Dr Risse engages regularly with governments and organisations on gender equality issues, including evidence-based policies to close gender gaps and how to apply a “gender lens” to economic analysis and policy design. Dr Risse is an Associate Professor in the School of Politics, Economics and Society at the University of Canberra, and a Research Fellow with the Women’s Leadership Institute Australia, and serves as an Expert Panel Member on gender pay equity for the Fair Work Commission. Previously she has held roles with the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard University, the Productivity Commission, and RMIT University. She is a co-founder and former National Chair of the Women in Economics Network (WEN) in Australia.
