Here are the incredible 23 female founders presenting at the Atto accelerator’s Demo Day
It’s been a busy year for Atto, the accelerator that helps female founders launch tech companies.
The organisation will hold the Atto Demo Day this Wednesday, November 24 from 11am with an impressive 26 female founders from 23 startups.
Entrepreneur Kate Kendall launched Atto in 2019 to empower female founders to build global, scalable and sustainable tech companies ion what she calls “the indie way”.
She built Atto as an equity-free accelerator with a remote/virtual model that predated the pandemic. And that’s seen it, thrive despite the disruptions of the last two years offering hands-on and action-oriented programs that teach women to create a startup on their own terms in the 12-week process.
The class of 2021 class, Kendall’s third cohort, takes the total number of female founder Atto has backed to 74.
The alumni include AirRobe, which raised $1.28 million in a seed round, and Bubble Tea Club, which raised $1.65 million on the Birchal crowdfunding platform.
Atto Program Manager, Lana Weal, said she’d “been blown away” by the founders in the current cohort.
“What they’ve managed to achieve in a few short months during such challenging times this year,” she said.
“There are some really inspiring founders in the cohort working on big problems like innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions, equitably sharing the mental load in relationships, and setting people up with the right admin tools for their end of life and legacy. Demo Day is going to be a celebration of all that they’ve been able to achieve over the 12-week program.”

Kristy Chong, CEO and founder of ModiBodi, is Demo Day’s special guest and will share some of her insights on building her business with the audience.
And three impressive judges will be watching over proceedings: Aprill Allen, general partner at Tractor Ventures; Rachael Neumann, founding partner at Flying Fox Ventures and Emily Rich, Ddirector of Microsoft for Startups, and partner at M8 Ventures.
Kate Kendall said she’s proud that Atto has supported 74 female founders across 67 startups in just three years.
“This batch is gearing up to be the best and biggest yet with the startups working on everything from NFTs and the metaverse to tackling social isolation in the remote world, and from crypto charity payments to skincare solutions for women of colour,” she said.
“We have become a go-to place for investors in search of quality female founder deal flow across Australia and New Zealand. I’m excited about 2022 as we are launching two new startup programs and will be tripling the number of founders we support.”
